First real blogg so hope its ok! I have decided to look at smoking. As i do not smoke personally my own thoughts are going to be a lot different to that of a smoker, however having nearly all my family members smoke (that are old enough) i know what its like to be around them and subjected to second hand smoke. Since i was little i can remember being struck in the car with my dad smoking away filling up the car , i hated it and him for it. I also found it very unfair that i had to then go to school stinking of smoke. I understand that people are free to make their own choices and i respect that as their choice to smoke but really is it fair to inflict that on others? I have also spent a considerable amount of time working in pubs before and after the smoking ban and feel that although there was great opposition to it, it has been a fantastic break for those that do not smoke. why should someone who works in a public place be subjected to someone elses smoke- they do not have a choice where as the smoker does? surely that is infringing on their human rights?
